Xah: The Art of Sah, Reimagined

Tea built our mornings, our living rooms, our friendships. Then it got flattened into dusty bags, syrupy cups, and wellness clichés. Xah exists to change the script.

We started with frustration and possibility. Two lawyers from Nagpur and Assam, both in Bengaluru, both stuck between sugar-loaded chai and limp tea bags while specialty coffee hogged the spotlight. One of us grew up around family tea gardens from the early 1900s. The other was riding caffeine spikes and crashes until the body said, “enough.” So we asked a very Indian question with a very obvious answer: if we grow some of the world’s finest teas, why aren’t we drinking them here, properly?

Travel hammered it in. In Switzerland, Amsterdam, Russia and beyond, “Assam” and “Darjeeling” were poured like treasures. Back home, the shelves told a different story. Across China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka, tea wasn’t an afterthought. It was ritual, craft and pride. India deserved that at home, not just in export containers.

Enter Xah.

“Sah” (চাহ), Assamese for tea, is rhythm, hospitality, daily ritual. We kept the soul of Sah and gave it the X: precision in sourcing, craft in blending, modern design. X marks the promise of the exceptional.
